Create a handout has some excellent advice for effective therapy as well as marketing.
1. Wouldn’t you want to give credit to your source even if it was the government rather than take credit for it?
2. Isn’t indicating that you wrote what you lifted from the government dishonest?
3. Wouldn’t giving credit and links to additional information add to the credibility of your pamphlet?

These are excellent questions, jbaker.
Government documents were created with the use of taxpayer funds. Thus, American citizens “own” the content.
With public domain works, it is a courtesy to cite the source, but there is no legal obligation to do so.
However, I do agree that it is a good idea to cite the source anyway. Referring the reader to additional information also adds credibility.
